|
|
Hi there!
Using kit "Standard Dry - High", and clicking on the hi-hat repeatedly, the sounds (the variance sounds for ALL hi-hat parts, foot, stick hits, etc) do not come from a consistent location in the stereo field. I have the hi-hat panned slightly left, but the sounds clearly come from both left and right randomly. I can both hear it, and see it in the meters. I haven't tried other kits to see if it's across kits, but is there something in my setup, or is this a bug?
Thanks! |

This occurs for some dry (CS) sounds due the recording technique used, which involves two mics at close range. When the drummer doesn't hit exactly in the center line between the mics, the pan can shift.
Work-around: change to the normal hihat sound (without CS in the name) and set its AMB to zero. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the reply.
I could see this being an issue for the 'stick' sounds, i.e. hitting the hi-hat, or the hi-hat bell, but not for the pedal sounds. That makes no sense. Plus, this is not a subtle shift in the stereo field, this is a distinct pan, very obvious. If you wish, I can record it, and send you the sound file.
Thanks. |

I can confirm the problem with the hihat pedal for which there must be another reason. I'll look into that. Please use the non-CS hihat sound as a work-around in the meantime. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I notice this Problem too in 3.6.0 Demo, only help is AMB knob not move over middle. Is "AMB to last" switch on, show this strange things. hihat instrument AMB pan randomly from full left to full right. seem the AMB is sometimes exchange left and right. so i avoid to use AMB much.
When AMB last switch is on, then the reduce of level of kick or snare in Mixer , does not reduce the level of AMB. so when set level of snare to 0 AMB sound of snare is at same level hear(normal no sound should hear) as set Level of snare to full. workaround i see only is to reduce AMB level in Kit of the snare and reduce the Main Level.
But when AMB is fix, then Kits sound diffrent. so what do. maybe add a AMB2 knob
BTW: another Problem i see, the Menu function add snare roll -> delete the line of snare hits complete and no roll is add. EDIT: i see now how it work. there need add many snare hits, then the function move this hits exchange from left to right hand |
