When using Jamstix 3.6 Win to drive a separate drum module (SD) - is there a way to turn off CC4 Hi Hat control? It seems to be on all the time (it is in the exported midi file).

Sometimes I use CC4 to control the Hi Hats and other times I want to use the individual notes. When I uses individuals notes - it works but I keep getting the included CC4 messages.

I tried the following in Jamstix.ini - without luck:

[Superior Drummer]
CC4=0

Thanks,
John

Work-around:

Create a copy of 'Superior2.kmap' in \data\kits of the Jamstix3 folder and call it 'Superior2 (NoCC4).kmap' or something like that. Open the copy in NOTEPAD and change 'Controller=4' to 'Controller=98' or any other unused MIDI controller number and set UseCC=0. Save the file, open your project and then use 'Load Key Map' in the kit menu to load your edited key map in to your project.

This won't stop the messages (as UseCC is currently ignored in Jamstix) but at least won't have them affect Superior and will keep Jamstix from changing hihat notes based on CC.

Thanks Ralph - I will try this when I return home this week.

Can this be keymap be saved in the kit itself? I would like to have 2 kits - one for hi hat midi note generation and one mapped for CC4.

Yes, you can load the key map into a kit and then save the kit to a new name to have both.

Ralph - I tested this and found two issues:

- when I record the midi output from Jamstix directly - the CC changes to the new assigned CC as expected. When I ctrl drag the part to Cubase it still contains CC4 (this is after recomposing the whole part and playing the song all of the way through).

- It doesn't seem to be saving the CC change to the kit. I saved the new keymap to a new kit. When I reload the kit it outputs CC4. I need to reload the keymap to make this work as described above.

Thanks,
John

These issues have been identified and will be fixed in the next update. I'll see about getting you a test Build as soon as possible so you can continue working with MIDI export.
