Hi - I have created an full arrangement in Jamstix and then exported as midi to make minor tweaks - move a few cymbals, etc. I then click Mute Brain and ensure that Play Input is also ticked and point the modified midi track back to Jamstix as I want to use the Jamstix drums in this
instance.

However, I have noticed that the cymbals (Crash 1 and 2) do not play at a consistent velocity - ie. I have a cymbal midi event with a velocity of 72 to have a gentle crash, however, when Jamstix plays this midi event sometimes it is a loud crash, sometimes it is a quite crash, ie. it appears to be applying some sort of randomisation on the midi event instead of playing it at the velocity that is input. This is not good, as when I do a mix down it is going to be pot luck whether I get that gentle crash at the start of the verse or a major crash, and have to redo it. The problem is not just with this midi event it is on all crashes.....it may be doing it on all midi events, but this are the ones that are most noticeable.

This is best demonstrated by simply opening the drum editor and using the mouse to click on the cymbal event to send the midi info - ie. get the cymbal to sound. If you just click many times a second apart, you will hear different cymbal velocities randomly......

Can you confirm if Jamstix is doing some randomisation on midi input and what I can do to stop it doing it?

Thanks

Good catch. When using the internal sounds in 'dumb' mode, Jamstix still applies velocity variance. As a work-around for now, please make sure the 'Velocity Variance' slider in the jam tab is all the way left when playing back.

We'll have a fix in the next beta.
