so I created a new part and when I go to play it back, it jumps to a previous part earlier in the song.

Since you were asking about time signatures earlier...
Does the time signature for the part match in Jamstix and in the DAW?

Also check the cycle function in the DAW...

Thanks for your response. I redid it over from scratch and it seemed to work. Yes both time signatures were a match. Odd that it did that though
