The "pocket" function is one of the best features in Jamstix. It's nice to be able to lay down a bass or guitar groove to a click track and then create a drum groove to match the feel by adjusting the pocket.
The only problem I am having is that adjusting the pocket seems to change the timing of the 1 or downbeat. This can create problems when two consecutive parts have a different feel.
For example, say I'm going from a part with a straight feel (no pocket) to one with a behind-the-beat feel with a kick on 1. I'd like that kick to land exactly at the beginning of the measure so that the two parts flow together.
Instead, the program will delay the kick by a few milliseconds. Depending on the tempo, I can hear that hesitation sometimes.
Is there any way around this, short of hand-editing the kick? |

I can't think of a work-around short of hand-editing. I'll put this on the list for something to ponder on for future updates. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Thanks. I'd love to see an option to apply the pocket to the backbeat only. |
