Hi, I'm trying to bring in Jamcussion for an 8 bar period but it plays through the whole track..can anyone please tell me how I make Jamcussion play for only the 8 bars..I did select the 8 bar bridge in the song sheet..thought that was it but can't figure it out..thanks.

How about making these eight bars their own part and selecting style "Silent" for parts except those 8 bars.
Alternatively you could manually delete all hits from all the other bars of the piece and lock them so that Jamcussion doesn't recompose them. Then your 8 bar section will be the only one where Jamcussion is allowed to compose.
