Wondering what is the best way of creating a bar of silence at the begining of a part.
I know that one way is to create the part , then lock the bars and manually edit the first bar but is there a more efficient, flexible approach.
an example song to illustrate what I'm looking for would be Dance On by the Shadows
thanks for any help/input |

| There is that "silent" style, and I just set pattern length/repeats 1 and 1. Some drummers are quite not so totally silent... |

To build on TJ_Lansing's answer, there's also a drummer named Silent.
So what I do is create a new part with Silent as the style and Silent as the drummer, and change the length/repeat numbers to match what I need.
I find this to be a more efficient way to manage silent bars than manually removing notes from a part with a set style and drummer. The reason is that it is very easy to later adjust your silence length/repeat up or down based on changing needs rather than going in and manually editing parts. Plus, you can drag the silence around to different areas of the song as well. |

| Or just erase everything and lock the bar with the lock icon on the right. Seems to work for me. |
