Can't do midi learn on some drums, JS 3.5.1 b8 x64

The 'key' spin button is empty, usually for the snare and others. Clicking it does nothing.

I click onto a kick drum, and I can then bring up the midi learn popup.

Am I missing something obvious?

You must select the desired articulation for elements that have more than one sound.
