For all the brush kit and jazz lovers out there: the JazzPak add-on planned for next year has been renamed to BrushPak and slightly scaled back so we can bring it to you this year.

Here are the demos:
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_shuffle.mp3
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_infatuated.mp3
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_raven.mp3
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_bebop_stick.mp3
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_bebop_brush.mp3
http://66.235.201.50/demos/brushpak_trainbeat.mp3

The BrushPak will include:

  • a Jamstix update that adds logic to Jamstix to allow snare brushing
  • a complete brush kit including sizzle ride cymbal and snare brushing sounds
  • lots of mappings that combine the BrushPak with the default sounds as well as DrumPak #1
  • new jazzy rhythms

No firm release date but definitely this year. The list price will be $25 and there will be an introductory offer.

Hope this will get you as excited as we are! Even if you don't play Jazz, just running Jamstix with the brush kit in non-jazz songs that need understated drums is worth the price of admission IMHO.

That's right. We've been trying the brush kit here with normal Jamstix rhythms and it's great for a wide range of songs that need a more intimate or understated drum sound.
