How's it going, Ralph?
Recently I've been working on a project and I stumbled upon something that's bugging me a lot. Can't Jamstix (or Jamcussion) play 32nd notes? The bar editor is devided in 16th notes, I see no way to enter a 32nd or another shorter note. For example: I want to create a cymbal wash, but the one Jamstix offers is made up of 16th notes and it is synced to the host. At slower tempos the cymbal wash sounds quite unnatural. I'd like to be able to adapt it to the kind of effect I'm after. I see no way to shorten the length of those notes to 32nds. Am I missing something, Ralph? Please, Help!

Hey Rinan_Lima - can you get the effect you want by using both limbs? Maybe the LH hitting the cymbal with the normal timing of 1/16th, but the RH hitting its notes with a timing offset of 1/32 early, or something like that?

Alexis is right. Place a LH and RH note on the same tick and set the timing of one of the notes to +1/32nd.

Thank you both Alexis and Ralph. Now I understand how that works. But is there a way to control the kind of cymbal wash that gets generated? Some times, depending on the tempo of the song, we're after 32nds but Jamstix comes up with 16ths every time. Or am I wrong? Cheers!

Currently, cymbal washes are always 16th. I'll put 32nds on the FR list.

Would Bar "Save as" for each of the kinds of cymbal washes do it for you?

Thanks Alexis! But having to manually create a cymbal wash is a real bummer: I'm never pleased with the results. When Ralph adds this feature to Jamstix, we won't have to worry about this anymore. Cheers!!
