I love JamStix, but this is one of the things that frustrates me.
I made a song with about 20 parts just using drums.
I didn't really notice the Percussion at first, but then decided I didn't want it.
To make a long story short, I had to go into the percussion side and program "Silent" drummer & "Silent" style into every part.
I thought that took care of it, but one bar was still playing a percussion fill.
I finally figured out that even though it had a "Silent" drummer & "Silent" style, there was a Percussion kit loaded in that one bar.
That's very useful if you want percussion in some bars and not in others.
But it would really be nice if we could enable/disable percussion entirely in a JS song.
Aside from the frustration I went through, it would be handy to be able to switch percussion in and out as we arrange the song. |

| You can just Shift+click the percussion "side" icon to disable all percussion. |

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I saw this thread & that it was something I was puzzled over too. I just tried it. Of course, it works great. I thought I would add a couple of things too. They may be obvious, but...
- Shift-clicking works on the drum kit OR percussion.
- Shift-clicking is a "toggle" situation. It Disables & Enables.
Which is VERY handy & allows you to Disable a side to listen to one 'side' alone or JUST use the percussion side or drum set side. It's on page 24 section 12.1 in the JS3 manual too. It slipped right by me.
Woo Who!! GREAT question. Thank you for this!
NOW, I've put down the gun & am stepping away from the keyboard...
It has been a pleasure serving you as your hijacker today... |

Shift-clicking the percussion side does mute the percussion engine.
However, the percussion MIDI is still generated. It would be nice to have a switch to disable the generation of the percussion MIDI and drum MIDI separately. |
