Hi there... sure this is an easy question to answer!..
I am trying to make a beat for a song im making...I know where I want the kick and snare to be for every bar. But I would like to let jamstix play around with the hats, rides, ghost snares, everything else etc... so my question is how do I lock down the kick and snare that are where I want them, and let jamstix be able to come up with new variations for everything else? |

| OK... whilst waiting for an answer to this I have been trying to find the answer elsewhere and on the forum... it seems that in the past a lot of people have been asking for this "feature" but it was not available and only work arounds were suggested... is this really still the case? |

I think Ralph answered this in another thread
http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6426&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=disable+kick
Copied from above thread
Alexis: you'd want to do this:
- program the kick part manually in the bar editor and save the bar
- load the style you want to use and disable any KICK element in its brain (click on element header for menu)
- click Brain menu->Add->Groove Importer, set it to JSx Groove and then select your saved kick style
And, yes, some style and drummer brain elements take kick placement into consideration when doing their thing.

You might like the 'Jamstix Classic' style where you can just set the kick and snare in the grid. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
