1) Where exactly do I find the Dial-a-Metal Complexity slider in the brain displays?

I must be dumb or blind (or both) but, after doing searches on the forums and the pdfs, the answer is still eluding me.

2) As a reference, what is Jamstix's default Power Leevel setting?
I'm setting the envelopes (using Reaper) to control the power level of Jamstix, and it looks to be somewhere between .78 and .81 but I'd like a bit more precision if possible.

3) Also, I haven't been able to finds any in-depth doc regarding Free Jam.
All I've been able to find via the forums is that I need to
- insert the audioM8 VST onto the source track indended to control Jamstix power,
- create a song in Jamstix,
- start the host and go..
- but not much else.

Aside fron the Style Pak docs I have:
- jamstix3_manual.pdf
- jamstix3_quickstart.pdf
- jamstix3_styles.pdf
- jamstix3_drummers.pdf
- percussion_styles.pdf
- jamstix2_manual.pdf (downloaded separately from the site)

Is there a Free Jam-specific quickstart or other manual available that may be missing from my installation?

Thanks!

You'd need to load the 'Dial-A-Metal' style from MetalPak to get that control.

Default Power Level is 79% since velocity as a MIDI signal ranges from 0-127, meaning 100%=127 and 79%=100

Let me know any specific questions you have on audio jam beyond what is in your docs and I'll be happy to elaborate.

Yes - I have a song created with "Dial-A-Metal - Simon" loaded. I just don't see a slider specifically labeled "Complexity" in the brain section when I click on the various parts in the songsheet section. The sliders I see are:
- Groove/Bias
- Skip Three/ Amount
- Power Hand/Min Power
- AutoSnare/Max Power

Am I just looking in completely the wrong area or is it under a right-click dialog somewhere?

Awesome - exactly the info I was looking for.

So I guess the steps I listed is the way I would go about setting up Free Jam? Do also I need another send from the source/audioM8 track to the Jamstix track, or does audioM8 automatically communicate Power Levels to Jamstix as soon as the VST is inserted on the source track?

Look for a knob called 'Busy' in the panel 'Groove'. That controls the base metal groove.

Yes, audioM8 communicates automatically with JS. Simply click 'AUDIO JAM' and that's it.

Cool - I was just looking for the wrong label.

And the audioM8 Freejam process seems straight-forward. I'll play with it some this weekend. Although even just using the track envelope on the Power knob is a blast in itself!

To echo many others here, this software is phenomenal.
Having Jamstix in my workflow has increased my songwriting productivity 10-fold! And that's without even scratching the surface in learning the depth of controls yet!

Thanks!
