Hi -

I know how to do triplets - use the 1st 3 boxes in 4/4, 2nd and 3rd boxes make a forced shuffle …

But can JS do sextuplets too? Only thing I can think of is:

A) play it from my keyboard to create a MIDI file and "Import" it … but not sure if that will work.
B) Artificially increase the tempo to 2x the actual, and make triplets there.

Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions!

That is wonderful, thank you so much Ralph. I never thought of splitting the duty between two hands Embarassed !

As a follow up question - IF I were to record perfect sextuplets into a MIDI track in Cubase:

1) If I then "Imported" it into JS3, would it assign the hits as you described above?

2) To get it to play Toms, would I need to look at the key assignment for Toms in JS3 and transpose the MIDI notes to the "right" note on the MIDI track?

Thanks again!

The MIDI importer cannot properly process the timing info for these sextuplets. It's best to program by hand. You could save the bar and then use it for copy/paste whenever you need it.
