Is there a groove for the shaker, cowbell, etc.?

Is there a 1-click (or so) way to, for example, have the egg-shaker do its thing across the bar, or is it a manual process?

Brain Menu->Add->Shaker and then select desired 'style' and 'sound' in the appearing 'Shaker' brain element.
