I was just tweaking with battery linked to jamcussion to experiment some groove with Taiko sounds:

https://soundcloud.com/bosone/taiko-sound

I mapped 3 percussions in jamcussion to battery 3 with the "east asia" patch. i modified the patch a bit to obtain some humanizatino and, in jamcussion, i selected some random rhytm with very few modification.

linking jamcussion to percussions patch opens a new world.
i still have to dig the rhytm styles and i wonder if it will be possible to obtain some "cinematic" sound also by using jamstix linked to some "odd" percussion sounds!

Cool idea.. this could open up possibilities with a multitude of samplers and synths. I like it.

yes, that's the main idea.
the "problem" is that most percussion patch i have (in kontakt, battery or other) either does have just 1 articulation or A LOT of articulations... and the mapping in jamcussino is just drum1/medium/rim/mute so i don't know really how to map them! Smile

but the exepriment of combining taikos is really cool... in that case the mappig was pretty straightforward as in battery there are the right samples for JC articulations!

I don't know about all the virtual libraries out there, but of those I personally own, I think the EastWest products Stormdrum2 and Ra have lots of interesting drum sounds that would work great with Jamstix. Several times I have raised the issue of triggering EastWest libraries from Jamstix on their forums, but it would take something like what bosone has done to convince those on the EastWest forums to see the real potential!
