Hello everyone. After using Audacity for some time for one or two guitars, I have come to where I need drums. My other guitar player plays some drums, but he has these excuses about children and a wife and 12 hour shifts. I think he just isn't serious enough.
Anyway, a couple of weeks of searching for the right sequencer and drum program ( low cost ) and a divine intervention on another forum lead me to Reaper and Jamstix. I knew I had found my answer. I downloaded the 64 bit Reaper, then the demo from here. Now I can't get anything to work.
Yesterday, Reaper would open but would not find the plugin file. Today, Reaper opens showing: project: loading file: jsfx.dll Then a window opens with an message: Error opening media
When I search Computer, I can find this listing:
Computer>OS(C: )>Program Files>Reaper(x64)>Plugins
In this list is a file jsfx a DLL file.
In the All Programs list is an entry for Rayzoon Jamstix 3 Demo
I do not have a folder for VST plugins. Where should that go, Desktop, anywhere on C, and is that as simple as simply creating a new folder?
What do I need to do to get this running, please? Keep in mind that it has taken me the last two weeks understand that a VST plugin is an accessory to the sequencer.

jsfx.dll is not a Jamstix file, it is a REAPER file so you may have some issues with your REAPER install. I recommend you check with the helpful folks at the REAPER forum to make sure your install is okay.

Once REAPER is running fine, add the path to the jamstix3_demo.dll to the VST search path in the REAPER plugin preferences. REAPER will then list Jamstix under VSTi when you add an FX to a track in REAPER. Once you're there, double-click a JS quickstart song and hit PLAY in REAPER.
