I can't access any of the following SDX kits in my SD2 library: "Music City", "Roots", "Metal Foundry", "Custom & Vintage". The only kits listed are EZX and the stock SD2 kit. Please advise.

You can load any SD kit within SD and use any SD kit in JS as a template for it. If the given SD kit has some trigger key changes, you can match this in JS with the kit editor. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Can you elaborate? |

The SD kits that you see listed in Jamstix are just files with instructions on what 3rd party DLL to load, patch data to be sent to that DLL and the MIDI keys to be used for each sound. The 3.5 update removes the DLL and patch data so it's just the key mapping and some extra data like keys for cymbal choking, hihat control etc.
So, let's say you do this:
- load JS into host
- load SD into host
- click MIDI OUT ONLY in JS mixer to avoid DLL loading (not needed in 3.5)
- load a SD kit in Jamstix (it will just load the key mapping data)
- add a MIDI track in the host with input=Jamstix and output=SD
You can now load any kit you want in SD and JS will drive it via MIDI. If the specific SDX kit you load has some MIDI key changes from SD default, just adjust the MIDI key assignment for that sound in the JS3 kit editor. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

MIDI output is enabled under options.
MIDI only is selected in the mixer section.
Jamstix loaded into a MIDI track
Input is not connected
Output is assigned to to SD2's MIDI in
SD2 loaded into a MIDI track
Input is assigned to Jamstix MIDI out
Output is assigned to SD2's MIDI in
I can get TT EZPlayer to output to SD2 so I know Cubase's routing is working. However, in EZPlayer, EZPlayer's MIDI track input has to be assigned to itself. I have also tried this with Jamstix to no avail.
When playing Jamstix Kit window indicates activity but the SD2 window doesn't
I don't know where to go from here. |

Did you try turning on Echo/Monitor on the MIDI tracks? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Thanks, Ralph. I sorted it out with jBridge then moved on to some editing of the MIDI key assignments in order to modify the "Allaire" kit for "Music City". |
