I have a reasonable idea of what constitutes a verse, chorus, bridge and middle eight in a song but how does jamstix create parts for pre-chorus, breakdown and link?
I know a breakdown is where most of the instruments stop and there is just acapella singing or a single instrument playing, what exactly would jamstix play in a 4 bar part labelled 'breakdown'? Also what drum part constitutes a 'link'? is it a kind of elongated fill for an extra bar or something?
This is a fabulous program to just mess around with. Compared to the hard labour involved in getting drum tracks down in other programs that can kill your creativity, jamstix can actually inspire you to come up with something just by jamming along - worth every penny! |

We'll add some more info to the manual for those parts.
'Breakdowns' usually have main snare hits played on the kick. 'Link' is a short transitional part (half verse length) with power hand on semi-hats. Fills are also affected by the part type.
Finally, some styles have specifically altered style presets for parts. You can even do your own and save them as a preset with the part identifier in brackets. For example, saving a preset as '[X] My Breakdown' would cause the song builder to use this preset for breakdowns when using that particular style. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
