Can someone help me understand please - amazingly, I can't seem to figure this out by trial and error (JS3.3)-

When I load a kit, and choose "Filter - percussion" (for example), what is the intended result - that the kit is loaded with everything but percussion?

That is what I would expect, but when I try to test it out, what happens, frequently but inconsistently, is that the normal kit will play only some of its instruments (for example, a Tom might be unresponsive either to the song or manually), and even sometimes the normal entire kit will visually disappear, or the entire percussion kit will disappear.

It's hard to figure out/describe because the behavior is not consistent. I always figured out it was the price I had to pay for using XP-32 bit, or just not understanding how to use the kit "Filter", but reading this thread made me wonder if moving up to the new beta would be helpful or not? Or is the beta mainly for 64-bit systems?

Thanks!

The Load Filter controls what part of the kit file gets loaded. Sometimes you may want to
load the hihat or the toms of another kit into your current kit and this will allow you to do so.

That's from pg. 17 of the users manual. I never used that before so I just made a kit out of BonzoPak Big & Fat, 808 toms & brush kit cymbals. Pretty damn funny sounding.

Hi - Thanks for that a zimuth ... I've read that bit many times!

I wonder if the problems I'm having are from changing kits, not the "filter" per se (since yours is working just fine). The problem I'm having is similar to the one described in **THIS thread** .

Thanks for any help, a zimuth again (Smile) or anyone -
