Hi guys, I just had a problem with jamstix - kontakt abbey rd via midi out where I could only hear kontakt when the ruler was inside the left-right locator area, once the playback ruler passed the right loop end point I got nothing from kontakt. The JS song had a 32 bar intro and then went onto verse 1 but I could only hear the odd sporadic crash hear and there , maybe 1 in every 4 bars (accents maybe?), but all the necessary data(kik hat snr) was present in the js bar editor. Anyone know whats happening?
I just updated Cubase 32bit to 6.07
Thanks,
Pat.

That's odd. Please repeat the issue, close the project and send me rzdlog.txt from Documents\Jamstix3.

Are the start and end points of the loop exactly on bar starts or within bars?

From memory I can't remember Ralph but I think I tried a few different points, some snapped to grid and others just loose and neither made a difference. I'm away for the weekend so I'll try check it on Monday and post results.

Mine has always done this. I first got Jamstix 3 just over a year ago with Cubase 5 and as far as I can remember, with all new versions of Jamstix and Cubase (on C6.5.1 and JS 3.3.1b2 now) it has done this. I never worried about it much but I will comment here since it seems appropriate. For me, it only does it with the "Cycle" turned on, and only when the cursor is AFTER the locators (i.e. later in the song). It works when the cursor is BEFORE the locators. I also experimented with the snap on and off, trying to select even bar positions, etc., but it does not seem to matter. I tried letting it play for a bit to see if it eventually gets updated on the song position or something and might eventually start playing but it didn't seem to ever start playing if the cursor was AFTER the locator area with the CYCLE turned on. I would be happy to help troubleshoot it. I guess I never even realized it was not normal.

Thanks for pitching in J.L. I have also found like you were saying it only happens with cycle on and after the locators. It can get annoying in certain instances but like you I can live with it, just wanted to see if it was happening with others.
Cheers,
Pat.
