Hi All,

My DAW is Reaper + Jamstix.

I have a following problem. Some time ago I experienced a system crash in XP. Fortunately I'd done previously a back-up of all important files of Reaper and Jamstix (including J2D files). After the crash I had to reinstall Reaper and Jamstix. Then I tried to open some of the "old" songs. As far as pure Reaper files are concerned everything runs smoothly but if try to use "old" songs created in Jamstix VSTi an attempt to open them freezes the application (Reaper).

Is there a way for me not to lose the work and time involved?
Cheers,
T

Make sure to use JS 3.3.0 or 3.3.1 Beta 1. If it still happens then, please send me rzdlog.txt from Documents\Jamstix3.

Thanks,

I do see a problem in your log. Please use 3.3.1 Beta 1 and see if it is fixed. If not, please send me the latest rzdlog.txt and host_comp.dat from Documents\jamstix3.

Beta version installed. First I created completely new song and it worked like a charm. When I attempted to open the old one - Reaper closed after about 30 sec waiting time. I sent you the log.

The log still shows 3.3.0. Please make sure you replace this DLL with the Beta DLL and then try again:

C:\Program Files\REAPER\Plugins\jamstix3.dll

File sent. The fact that you pointed that the version was not installed in Reaper properly got me thinking. I have the following configuration on my comp (two parallel instances of XP): C: drive (crashed installation which is now unavailable directly, with original installation of Reaper), D: drive (good installation, Reaper newly installed - here I'd copied the beta version of dll before), E: drive (music output files, Jamstix installed with back-up data library copied from the external drive). Now the txt log must've referred to the C: drive installation. It's a little bit suprising 'cause I've started Reaper only on D drive. Maybe that's what's causing the conflict?

Looking forward to your advice.
