If you are interested in helping us test the next update, please go to your personal download page and download this beta. Next to the download link is a a second link to retrieve a new license key file for this Beta and all future updates. Click here for more details on that.

Changes From Beta 4

  • fixed crashes on 64-bit systems caused by license system

Changes From Beta 2

  • improved interface load speed
  • added jamstix3.ini option 'AlwaysSync' to have JS stay synched to host position even when host is stopped
  • 'Turn Groove Into A Style' is available again
  • Jamcussion style, player and kit load dialogs now include 'Silent' and 'Empty' elements

Changes From 3.2.0

  • style, drummer and kit load dialogs now restrict data based on drumset mode versus Jamcussion mode
  • added 'Open Hihat' to brain element menu to show/hide the hihat open level knob for elements that use that information
  • 'Power' brain knob now works on 'Importer' to amplify/attenuate velocities of imported grooves
  • 'New Part - Create Intro' now automatically loads the 'Intro' style
  • 'Turn Groove Into Style' is now 'Save Groove As Style' and saves a full style file for easy use with SongBuilder

The new option of "saving groove as style" is great Ralph but could we still keep the old option of "just converting without saving" as well. It keeps the work flow smooth as I don't want to save every Jsx file I create as most will just be ideas/experiments until I try them out in the song wizard.

Thanks

Ralph, I loaded the latest beta in Reaper 4.12 using XP SP3. The new filtering for Jamcussion is great, but there is no silent option to not load a style, player or kit in the song wizard.

I managed to find a bug while attempting to not load a Jamcussion kit. In the song wizard, select JC Kit, highlight Jamcussion at the top and select OK. I get an error: "Reaper error: List index out of bounds (-1)"

Hi Ralph

I'm not sure if you are taking suggestions during your beta test. But the "ADD CYMBAL WASHS" in the bar editor is a great feature, but it would be even better if it could have it's own brain element like we have with kick ,snares etc..... to add more variety/realism... I suggest the same for the other two options ADD CRESCENDOS, TOM ROLLS etc". It would be a much quicker way of getting builds and breakdowns into the wizard........ Many songs are often 50% builds and breakdowns..

Thanks

Great suggestion!
The ability to have the wash or roll last for more than 1 bar would also be an excellent addition.

I assume I just install this beta "over" the current Jamstix install, right??? Or do I uninstall Jamstix, then install the beta???

BTW: Is there an option to change the names of the articulations in the kit editor???? IE: Change snare "bounce" to "ruffs"???

True. But having the suggested options would mean that the required articulations would appear in the wizard song builder, rather than editing every tedious notes/bar manually.....

Beta 8 is now out, fixing 64-bit issues. Let me know how it works for you.
