New new reg system is nice.
When searching for a suitable pattern I'm always running trying out several styles to get a feel.
I've noticed that when changing style from a style with swing (say Rockabilly) to one without any swing (eg disco or funk) the swing level remains. I would have thought it should be reset? |

We will have a swing reset for the style preview in the next update. As far as normal style load goes, it's a tricky issue. Some people set the shuffle and then want to try many styles (including non-shuffled ones) without having to reset shuffle every time.
I'll be chewing on this. Maybe an options flag would be best. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I think that in order for the shuffle slider to have any effect, either “1/8” or “1/16” (or both?) must be checked...? If that’s correct, what about having neither checked imply “shuffle to be reset by the style when the style is changed”? That’s presuming we usually won’t have any trouble figuring out whether a given style implies 8th or 16th shuffle, as a shuffle set by the style would not check either box (so Jamstix can reset the shuffle if the style is changed again). Adjusting the slider with neither box checked would then have an effect if and only if the style has an implicit shuffle.
It would also mean the user could check either box but set the slider to zero to force even styles that are shuffled by default to load straight. |
