Hi to all JS users,
I recently purchased JS3 and am still trying to get my head around all of it's functions and potentials. I have a specific question about the midi import function.
My intended use for JS is to humanize my own midi tracks constructed in SD2.
So for example I'd build say a 3 minute midi loop with intro -v- c- v- c- b- end.

Is it possible to then place this midi composition onto a Jamstix track, hit learn in the JS sequencer, and play the full song through. Turn off learn, then select a drummer who will put his/her own feel & quantization to my original construction verse for verse fill for fill and so on?

Or
Do I simply export my original midi drum composition (the whole drum part) from cubase, import it from the style selection in JS and hit play & record?

Bearing in mind that my goal is to just add realism to an existing pattern through articulation & velocity etc what's the most sensible way to go about it?

Sorry if this is a bit long winded!! I've been experimenting for a week or 2 with varying degrees of success but there seems to be a randomness to alot of my results that i'd like to tame! javascript:emoticon('')

Hi Pat!
I'd recommend you create the parts as needed in JS for your song and then use the IMPORT style in each part using the corresponding MIDI file you have prepared for that part (1 or 2 bars).

Your drummer of choice will then interpret the MIDI data, add groove feel etc. as well as accents and fills.
