|

2 questions:
1) I'm using the 'All Synths' option when I insert Jamstix as a DXi, so that I can set up 4 MIDI chanels and have some control for later mixing. Something like kick and snare, hats, cymbals, toms. Any other suggestions as to how to group them? My question with this is in order to set this up in Jamstix, under the Mapping tab I have to select each instrument individually from the drop down menu and then assign the output based on the slider for each one? There's no main assignment menu/window where I can see all of them at once and set them at the same time like w/ the TTS-1?
2) I know this should be obvious, but it's eluding me right now: Once I get my drums all set up the way I want them, how do I go about recording the tracks into Sonar so that I can work with them? How do I create audio data out of Jamstix? Right now I have the 4 DXi tracks that get inserted, and the one audio track VST jamstix 1 with output that says 2-Jamstix 1. The DXi tracks do not have an option to record, and if I insert an audio track and set it to Jamstix 1 as an input, it shows up on the meter, but the record option goes away there too. I'm not at all clear on what to do w/ these tracks. Do I need to insert still more tracks? Thanks for your help!

We will have a 'spreadsheet'-style editor in a future update.

The easiest way to turn a Jamstix arrangement into audio in Sonar is to freeze Jamstix (Freeze Synth). This will turn the audio outputs into audio clips, which you can also copy/paste to other audio tracks if need be.
Personally, I never worry about recording VSTi audio in Sonar in my projects. I use everything live, slap FX onto VSTi audio outputs as needed and have full control. Only when I run out of CPU I'll start freezing synths. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
