hiya.
I've been off the grid for a few weeks and on my return I was pleased to see the 3.2.0 update. I've only just got around to using it but quickly found that one of my most frequently used functions: the ability to alter the rotary dials e.g. 'Feel' by way of the mouse wheel has stopped working.
Please tell me this is a bug and not an intentional change? For me this was one of the sweetest short-cuts - using the mouse left-click & drag offers too coarse an adjustment for my liking, even with the shift-click. Although the mouse wheel resulted in largish increments, it was a fast way to make repeatable changes on the fly.

Hi Ralph.
Rather than start a new thread, I thought perhaps tag it on here. Now that I've had a chance to get into the swing of things, I've also updated Cubase x64 to 6.0.4 (done same time as the JS update).
Unfortunately JS is now very unstable but I am uncertain whether this is the result of 3.20 or C6.0.4 since both have changed. I am finding that the C6 projects with JS enabled often crash before they have even completely loaded, with opcode 19 and the like. If the project loads, 9/10 times if at the beginning of a new session on C6, if I hit the button to bring up the JS interface it crashes also. It is not uncommon for me to load the same project 3 or 4 times before it successfully completes and ready to go.
Would there be any consequences for existing projects if I back JS to the previous revision? At least then I can see if the stability is more connected to JS or Cubase. |

Hi N!ge
I know this is not much help to you, but I am using Cubase 6.04/64bit with Jamstix 3.2 with no problems at all.
The only time I get any crashing/problems, is if various other older VST plug-ins, are in the project.
I am not using jbridge

Thanks for the tip. Well that lends itself well to my suspicion that the cause is jBridge since I often also receive termination notices regarding auxhost.exe (jBridge; which I thought initially to be a symptom rather than a cause). Regrettably I use numerous plugins which do not run on a native 64 bit environment and the Cubase bridge is utter crap and very inefficient with resources.
Changing back now would result in remixing and remastering well beyond the level of my endurance! |

OK. In for a penny and all that. Temporarily disabling jbridge is easy: just move the folder with the bridged plugins and undo the rename of VSTBridge.exe. I loaded an infant project and JS magically appeared where JS.x64 (jbridged) was.
I hit the (e) button to bring up the JS interface and guess what... crash. "Windows detected that this program did not run correctly" Program: VSTBridge.
Oh nuts...... |

I do have Cubase6 locking up sometimes, but usually with projects made with earlier versions of Cubase.
They all have JS in them, but also various other 32bit VST's
I'm on Windows7/64, with a very clean system (at the moment).
I think Cubase 6 still needs a few updates, before it becomes reliable. _________________ john-studio64
