|

So I finally arrived at a mix I liked and I exported the midi out and then mixed the whole song down in my daw and it didn't sound the same. That was when I realized that I had the Power on js2 turned up to 108%(which turns out to cause a 2 db increase in volume level of the drums).
Is there a way to export the midi out at that power level (using bfd for sounds). Thanks! |

That's odd, I will check that out. In the meantime, record the MIDI as JS/BFD play in the host and it should have proper velocity values. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I just tried to midi record on the file I am working on and it's still different. It's odd. The version from Jamstix, the one I have been mixing from, is very punchy but once I play the midi file, it loses its punch and more of the room sound comes through and the kick becomes dominated by the room kick, not the direct one. And it becomes a lot quieter.
I checked a couple of the velocity numbers on a couple of hits. For instance on the first kick, in JS, it is 125 and in the midi file it is 127 so the midi file seems to be recording correctly. Since this is the case, is this a bfd problem?
If so, from your experience, would you have an idea (off-hand of course) why BFD2 would take JS2 differently direct than from a midi file of the same song? |

Update.
Nevermind. I had another midi track that was set up to input js2 and output bfd and even though it was muted, it must have somehow been transferring between the two because once I deleted it, js2 is making bfd do the same the midi file is doing. I'm surprised I was not getting any comb filtering.
Anyway, damn. Remix time. Thanks anyway for your efforts. |
