|
|
Hi Ralph
I can't seem to record Jamstix 3 midi out onto a separate midi track for editing in Cubase 6. It was simple in previous versions of Cubase (I just routed the JS out to a midi track input) but it doesn't recognise any signal using this method in Cubase 6.
Could you advise please.
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks |

Hi!
Are you running C6 64 bit?
I have the same or similar problem!!
I run Cubase 4, Cubase 6 32 bit and Cubase 6 64 bit!
I get Jamstix 3 midi output as midi input to work without any
problem except for Cubase 6 64 bit!!
In C6 64 I can't get it to work - not even for the same
project that works in C6 32 bit just minutes before if I
swap between the versions.

I'm afraid this is an issue of the C6 64-bit wrapper not reading the JS MIDI data properly. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi, bakiki_
I suggest you go for JBridge. I'm running JS 3 in C6 x64 without any problems now, except for an option I had to activate in bridge settings. Also, the performance is much, much better than VSTBridge.
Best regards |

I've no wish to be a flamer so please pardon this comment, it is intended to add relevant commentary.
I've been suffering ASIO performance issues with C6 64 and got myself jBridge - and fabulous it is too, saved me a big headache.
I've found that apart from some other branded plugins, JS3 is one of the thirstiest single plugins I have. I wouldn't stop using it tho, FTR, not in a million years.
In looking to improve the overall CPU overhead in my tracks, some of which are running at 75% on a 4GHz i7 Sandy Bridge, 16GB, I ran JS3 through jBridge and also natively (i.e. VST Bridge, presumably). In both cases, JS3 added 15% onto the ASIO performance meter, there is no difference at all between the two. (FTR I renamed the VSTBridge.exe so Cubase couldn't find it).
I am interested to learn what others are finding regarding performance, particularly on C6 and if there are any tips for bringing down the overhead without sacrificing JS3 functionality?
All the best. |
