|
|
I've written this to Ralph through the support mail (in German) directly, but I somewhat need a fast response on this one. Especially since it's driving me nuts.
I recently installed (and in the last days, constantly reinstalled) Jamstix 3 and it's corresponding kits. Apart from the AI PAK, I do have the "Studio" bundle, or now the "XXL" one. I also use Jamstix since v1.
Now here's the thing:
I've got all most recent PAKs ready to install, but I don't know where this one here is coming from:
Stock Kits Part 1.rxp
Stock Kits Part 2.rxp
They were tagged as JS3 stock on my HDD (I sort things while downloading), even though that can't be right, since they're dated to 2007. The newer JS3 Stock version I have is from 30.04.2010 - and it's even called that way with it's archive.
Another thing that puzzles me, is the fact, that the 2007 stock pak is in rxp format, but all other pak's are in rxp2 format. Only JS1 used the rxp format, everything JS2+ uses rxp2.
But that's not all - the samples included in that pack also differ. For example: the "2007" stock kit features HHX and Custom Stage samples, on top of three interesting snaredrums (tagged Piccolo, Metal, and Stage Custom), while the "2010" stock kit doesn't feature all that.
This makes me wonder - where do I have this thing from? What Jamstix does it belong to? And why is it not(!) included in the PAKs for Studio and XXL?
Here's a kit part count for comparision:
| Code: |
All PAKs (wo AI) All PAKs (wo AI) plus Stock from 2007
KICK 46 49 (e.g. 22" Stage Custom)
SNARE 75 80 (e.g. Piccolo 14" Metal, 14" Metal, Stage Custom 12x5)
HiHat 112 121 (e.h. 14" HHX,
RIDE (bow) 17 21 (HHX)
RIDE (bell) 18 20 (HHX, Med-Heavy)
CHINA 17 19 (just untagged)
SPLASH 11 13 (just untagged)
CRASH 48 52 (e.g. HHX)
TOM 77 89 (e.g. Stage Custom different sizes)

Like I said... these additional samples differ in sound, in pitch, and they have different tags as well.
Another example:
If I install all PAKs except this particular Stock Pak from 2007, I miss the "drumsticks" kitpiece for the Bonzo Pak. If I install this PAK only (the 2007 stock), then no kit can be loaded (always shows missing samples).
Here's a list of the paks I own a license for, with it's corresponding timedate and filesize. Could somebody please check if this is correct? It's really driving me nuts.

(after browsing through my HDD archives again, like... 20minutes later...)
On second thought... now this is strange and confusing as heck...
I snagged copy of JS1 from my download page in 2010 it seems. Why ever that was possible, I just did. Now looking at the "stock kit" there, it's also labeled "Stock Kits Part 1.rxp" and "Part 2" repectively.
And here's the fun part: the date is 08.02.2007 !!!
This gives me several conclusions:
a) I'm friggin crazy (proably are)
b) I installed the JS1 stock kit and constantly thought it's JS3 stock
c) JS1's sample content is NOT included in JS2 and JS3? (like I said, especially the snares differ!)
"What's going on?!"
*sure hope nobody setup us the bomb - kudos to those that gets it*
Thanks for answering. |
