|
|
...I already own a drumming VSTi (Battery), but now I'm looking to get a virtual drummer.
I downloaded and installed the demo version but, rightfully so, it's somewhat limited. So I thought I'd ask in here if I can do the following: I'd like Jamstix to generate a drum line based on the song structure (using the Wizard) that I define (with or without MIDI or Audio guidance) and then have the resulting MIDI appear within Cubase (4.5.2, 32-bit running on W7-64).
The thought is that in the event that I need to edit the resulting MIDI for whatever reason I am already very familiar with Cubase's editing facilities. Plus, even though Jamstix can host Battery I do occasionally make changes to the Battery kit and would rather edit in Battery. By "streaming" (for lack of a better word) MIDI to Cubase, I can continue with minimal disruptions to the workflow that I'm used to.
Can I do this with Jamstix? I'm hoping to take advantage of the sale so hopefully I'll get a few good answers before time runs out.
Thanks in advance! |

Yes, you can click and drag a part from Jamstix's song sheet straight onto a MIDI track in Cubase. _________________ Win7 RC, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Sonar 8, Superior 2 |

I am pretty sure you can do this at least two ways.
ONE. You can write your whole song in Jamstix and then drag and drop the full MIDI part onto a Cubase track to play Battery as dysfunction said).
TWO. You can actually have Jamstix subhost Battery and play Battery for you in real time.

Great!
I suspect I'll be buying Studio later today. "Go big or go home." Heh.
Thanks for your assistance. |
