|
|
After trying to use Jamstix for some tracks, I have these questions about version 1.2:
What could cause that Jamstix often vehemently refuses to play snare hits I programmed? Very often these are hits on the 1, 2 and the 8ths and 16ths around them. Very annoying.
Is there a way to get straight 16th hi hats? Clicking the 16-th buttons only makes it appear to hit the closed hat louder on the 4ths.
Why does Jamstix keep banging on those #$%^&* toms, even when I didn't program any tom-hits *and* I put complexity & funkiness way down?
What could cause Jamstix to randomly return to the basic pattern in in Free Jam mode?
Thanks in advance for any input |

Please upgrade to the 1.3 beta here:

and see how many of your issues remain.

Right-click on the Eighths box in the hihat panel, hold the button down and slide up to increase the velocity. Do the same on the Sixteenth box.
Please note that if the Sixteenth box is set to full velocity, Jamstix will switch to an auto-velocity mode where all Eighths are accentuated. If you don't like that make sure to keep the Sixteenth box under 127 velocity.

These are probably tom accents. If you are in free jam mode, slide the 'Accentuation' slider all the way left. In manual mode, do the same with the tom accent slider in the rhythm tab.

Is this in MIDI or audio jam? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

In MIDI jam.. I don't use audio. I also noticed that it happens when I
manipulate stuff in the "Jam" tab. |

Changing certain jam tab settings resets the patterns when needed. If you need to protect certain rhythms from that, lock them. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

So I can't change those parameters in a free jam? Why not? It would be mighty handy. |

It depends on what you are precisely referring to. Example: changing the funkiness or complexity resets the patterns because they would no longer match the new selections. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, I am having so many problems with Jamstix 1.2 (it even failed to play at all until I re-installed it) that I almost pulled my hair out in pure misery. I will install version 1.3 later today and see if I fare any better.
Thanks for answering though. |
