|
|
I'm using Sonar X1 on Windows 7 (both 64-bit), latest drivers and updates all around. The Jamstix3 trial worked fine with Sonar X1, but when I installed the actual program and click on "Install Pak" I get the following error message:
Bitbridge:
Access violation at address 77E3E803 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 697B80AC
I installed Jamstix using "Open as Administrator" and have tried the latest update including the latest beta dll.
Jamstix opens okay as a plugin, but I can't get any sounds out of it because it won't let me load any drum packs!!!! |

The pak installs have issues with some 64 bit hosts. Sonar X1 is one of them. Download Savihost (Google it) or load Jamstix in another 32 bit host.
I'm running X1 and had the same problem. Savihost lets the paks install with no issues.

Thanks k, I actually read another thread after posting mine and did use Savihost to load the paks.
So, that part worked. But as I got a little further, trying to open various songs, patterns, drum styles, etc. I keep getting another, similar error which I believe is the caused by the same issue...
Bitbridge:
Access violation at addresss 0290FC06 in module 'jamstix3.dll'/ Read of address 212E83D8.
I seem to remember another utility from a few years ago, maybe it was j-bridge. Do you think that there's a way of using a similar utility instead of Bitbridge to allow Jamstix to work well inside of Sonar? |

I to get similar errors. The thing is I cannot find any real pattern to them.
However, one thing I have noticed is that if I reboot, start Sonar and add Jamstix, everything appears to work fine. If I save or close the current project and then start or open a new one, Jamstix/Sonar becomes unstable. It's almost as if something is not closing right. However, sometimes everything will work fine for 3 or 4 projects and then go flakey. I need to try and document my errors and then send to Ralph and possibly Cakewalk. I just haven't been able to spend enough time recently.
I have tried Jbridge, also with mixed results. It does seem to work better than Sonar's Bitbridge. I get much less errors.
I will say that I am having more errors with Sonar X1 than with any previous version (I've been using it since version 1). Now that I see someone else with similar problems, hopefully we can get Cakewalk and/or Ralph to take a look at this. I think both are great products (Jamstix in particular), but with everything moving to 64 bits, there is bound to be some growing pains.

Ralph, sorry, "no go" on the beta dll file you sent me. Actually I was using it all along, I believe it was the same beta that was online a week or so ago.
Here's what happens now. I load Jamstix first into SonarX1. I don't do ANYTHING else except double click on the sample 12-bar blues song that's supplied with the program. Then the entire Jamstix interface instantly disappears, leaving Sonar X1, with an hourglass (spinning circle) while the header reads, "Sonar Not Responding". And it stays like that.
I've tried this several times, and each time I have to force shut down Sonar. So basically Jamstix is not working at all for me. |

Unfortunately, no difference. I just clicked on "Load Song" and the interface just went POOF!
Do you want me to send you the most recent error reports? |
