sorry if this has been asked "n" times already, but:

is there any way to install the samples folder on a different drive than the VSTi?

thanks.

What I do is have my jamstix.Dll and AudioM8.Dll in my Vst Folder on my main drive.

Then I Put the Jamstix folder itself on a second drive.

On startup of your sequencer it will ask you to point to the jamstix folder..

thanks cc!

i installed so long ago, i forgot there was an option.

it would be nice if there was a way to change it w/o having to re-install, though, by just detecting the missing "samples" folder in the default install folder.

You don't have to reinstall..

Just drag your Jamstix folder to the drive you want it on, and that's it..

Just delete the jamstix folder left behind if you don't cut and paste..

CC is right, no need to reinstall. If Jamstix cannot find its folder because you moved it, it will ask for it.

hi again,

so i moved the data to it's own folder, and it works fine.

however, jamstix now creates it's config file and rzdlog files in this new folder (on a different drive).

i would expect these files to be created in the folder where the jamstix.dll is installed.

comments?

Ini and log file stay with the data. Do you see a problem with that?

it's unusual.

these usually stay with the .dll.

my first goal was to get the data folders out of the VST folder. that worked great.

but:

i have a seperate drive which holds strictly samples. although the jamstix folders are not strictly samples, i thought this drive would be a good place to move the jamstix data in order to keep my C: drive (which is smaller) under control. i was getting close to full with just apps.

anyway, i have a few other VSTs setup this way (Wusikstation and DK+, for example) and they keep the config file(s) in the VST folder.

it probably doesn't really matter. it just seems cleaner to me to seperate the "sample" data from the tool. Smile
