Cubase users,
I currently use Cubase 5, 32 bit version. I am getting ready to upgrade to Windows 7, 64 bit version (from Vista). I have read that previous versions of the 64 bit Vst bridge included with Cubase have not worked well and most people were recommending JBridge. Steinberg has just released another update bringing the current versions to Cubase 5.5.3 and Cubase 6.0.1. These updates claim to have improved the VST bridge compatability and stability.
Has anyone tried Jamstix 3 with the updated VST bridge?
If I install 64 bit Cubase on my Windows 7 OS, should I still plan to use JBridge or is the updated Cubase bridge adequate now?
Jamstix is my only 32 bit plug-in that I absolutely MUST have working well!
Sincerely,
J.L. |

Hi,
Please comment if you have used the new Cubase bridge with Jamstix. I am sure there are people wondering if the new bridge fixed any problems.
Sincerely,
J.L. |

I still get VSTbridge 'lost connection' errors from time to time when using JS3 with C5.5.3(64) and C6.01(64).

Sherz,
I gather you are using the Cubase built-in VST bridge somewhat successfully? I am using Windows 7 64 bit, Cubase 5.5.3 64 bit, and couldn't get Cubase to "see" Jamstix. I tried using the jBridge demo and it makes Cubase "see" Jamstix.64. If you are using Jamstix in Cubase with the built-in bridge (I only have Cubase 5.5.3, not Cubase 6), could you offer some tips on how you got Cubase to "see" Jamstix?
Sincerely,
J.L.
EDIT:
OK. I figured out that I had some other .dll files in there that Cubase did not like. I think it was stopping Cubase from getting to Jamstix or messing up the "analyzing" of the 32 bit plug-in. It is working now. If anyone else has this problem, start by removing all other 32 bit plug-ins from the folder that add them back in a few at a time to find the culprit. Luckily, the plug-ins that were messing up the Cubase bridge work fine with jBridge. |
