|

Hi everyone. I have been lurking around for many months. I bought Jamstix 3 XL. I have watched and waited, waiting for the illusive stability with Sonar X1(a) 64bit and Jamstix 3 (3.1.2 and 3.1.3 beta).
I can occasionally get Jamstix3 to subhost/load Battery 3, but there are no sounds from Battery (or Superior Drummer 2 for that matter when loaded from subhost). I am using Sonar X1a (64bit).
Of course there is the so called "work-around". I have used the midi output track with Jamstix 3 and then use Battery 3 or Superior Drummer, etc... but I would like to use the vst subhost feature in Jamstix 3.
So here are some questions for you users and experts:
1) Is it better to use Bitbridge or Jbridge with Jamstix3 in Sonar X1a 64bit?
2) In Jammer 3 SUBHOST, should I only load 32bit dlls for Battery or Superior Drummer?
3) Has anyone got the subhost to work and to produce sound from the subhosted program? How?
Oh, yes, I posted a similar request on the Cakewalk Sonar Forum.
Thanks for looking and helping,

BTW, If I use Sonar 32bit then Jamstix3 subhost works fine and loads Battery3 just as it should. But this is not the case in Sonar X1a 64bit version.
Thanks for any advice

After a lot of searches, I found a post in a thread here which suggested to make sure that Jamstix is first loaded in a 32bit DAW environment, and while in that environment to run the install Pak programs. Here is that thread:
http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4958&sid=67f9fdbb094ce8139f48a2bd000bd429
So, I reinstalled Jamstix 3, ran the setup. Ran Sonar 8.5.3 32bit, inserted Jamstix 3 in that 32 bit program. Then ran Install Pak in Jamstix, and reinstalled all the Jamstix paks.
The Jamstix subhost program worked great in the 32bit DAW.
So then I launched Sonar X1a 64bit. Inserted Jamstix 3 as a vsti, loaded a song in Jamstix, launched Battery from the Jamstix subhost window, and IT WORKED!!
So I tried it with Superior Drummer2. It worked as well.

Very interesting. Subhosting under a 64-bit host with JS is a craps shoot, generally. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
