My songs tend to be kind of ballad-ish, somewhat akin to the band Keane's sound. I was wondering what the best way might be to emulate Keane's drummer.
An example would be this vid, at about 3:18 (the drums come in late).

Is there a way to emulate this sound very roughly? In my experimentation in Jamstix I can't seem to find the sweet spot between too busy and too simple. I'm sure you can tell I'm not a drummer.
Thanks! |

A beautiful song.
Not too far away from Coldplay´s "Fix You" with the range from going from rather soft to rather "bombastic".
Try the "Will" model, play twith the "Purge snares" and "Force snares" controls as well as the purge kicks controls to make the groove lighter or "phatter"
Also play with "Song power" to control the overall song power/dynamics. |

Thanks, Doc.
I think that will give me a good starting point. I'll let you know how I make out.
As a guitartist who never studied drumming or percussion, it's hard for me to get a handle on what to do in Jamstix, although I have an inner sense that I will learn and be able to produce decent results if I apply myself.
I truly appreciate the help. |
