JS3 rookie here -

Anyone know of a video tutorial that can get me up and running? I just want to be able to format songs for use with my Superior Drummer. It doesn't seem to be that straight forward.

Thanks for the reply. I've checked those out already. I'm looking for a video that shows someone actually writing/formating a song in JS3. The quick overview video doesn't dig in enough and the manual is just, well...a manual.

I can see the potential in this program and would like to use it but don't have hours and hours to devote to the learning curve.

For instance, how do you get rid of that silence in the beginning when the wizard generates a song? I just want to see the thing in action.

Just done this for you.1st time I've used a screen capture program.I don;t like big files so quality is not so good but it should help.
In Reaper I start my Host running which is when you see the drums start to compose.If you leave that running until the end of the song all the parts will be filled using the Drummer and style you choose.If you don't like what JS has done just change style/drummer and replay the song through

The left hand side Song editor is where you decide what Verses/Choruses/parts you want.They are not fixed and you can make them as long as you like and rename them e.g do whatever takes you fancy for a song.

Removing the 2 bar intro will get rid of the silence or you can use it and hit the compose button in the,"Bar Editor" to fill it up with sounds.

Everytime you hit play, does it generate a new drumtrack? If so, how can you save parts you liked?

Do you record your parts onto a midi track to be generated with another software, i.e., AD, Superior or BFD?

How do you 'tone down' a drummer if he's too wild?

It will not generate another change unless you change one of the parameters in the Drum editing option and have the,"Auto" button enabled in the Bar editor.You can also use the Lock icon to lock bars that you don't want changing accidentally.You can save the dong using the small arrowhead in the song editor and also the Undo feature.

Let the song run through once and then drag and drop the name of the song from the Song editor onto a track in your DAW.

Use the simplify buttons in the drum editor.
