I'm having some trouble with a snare velocity in JS 3. I have a song that goes into a new part and the snare volume drops considerably; ironically right where it should be picking up in volume.

I've checked all the snare hits' velocity and they're all at 127 but the level drops 12 db on the Reaper snare fader.

Where else should I look to correct this and what's the point of being able to edit velocities in the bar editor if it doesn't take?

Thanks,

Warren

You can always automate velocity. Smile Or you can edit that bar and lock it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've already tried locking the bar; no dice.

I'd automate but JS already thinks it's at max levels so there's no headroom left.

Well, I managed to raise the snare during this part a few db by playing w/ the velocity compressor in the kit area but it's still down a lot when it kicks into Verse 2.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please save that song in the JS song menu and send me the file so I can check this out.

Thanks Ralph. I believe it you were correct and there was some strange automation issues going on w/ Reaper.

Here's my other issue. I have the same kit playing earlier today and now the snare won't route to output 2. I checked all articulations in the kit editor and made sure they were going to output 2. I changed snare sounds and sometimes they showed up in output two sometimes not. It seemed completely random.

What could possibly be causing this issue now?

By the way, I do appreciate your efforts in helping me. You've been a great help and fast too. I'm just finding this experience quite frustrating.

Regards,

Warren
