I think I posted this in the wrong forum, so here I go again:
I'm trying out the Jamstix demo, and the only thing stopping me from buying it right now is that I still haven't figured out how to record the midi of each track seperately.
I'm using Reaper, and this is what I tried:
1. Loaded Jamstix as a VSTi, created a song and unchecked the "downmix" button.
2. arm each track and set their inputs to" midi -> all channels.
3. However when I record nothing shows up - they're just blank midi tracks.
What should I do to record the midi of each track (midi of kick on one track, snare on another track etc.)
As for recording audio, I figured out a way of doing it but I was wondering if it was the "best" or easiest way.
I armed all the tracks, and set them to record: output (multichannel, latency compensated).
Is there a better way of recording audio on each track? |

Videos about Jamstix can be found on Youtube here.
There are also some nice videos for Reaper here. Especially the one named Addictive Drums in Reaper – Record Multichannel Audio which explains how to route a VSTi to multiple channels and is applicable to JS as well. |
