|
|
I have a 5/4 verse (or maybe more appropriately 10/8) where I want the kick/snare pattern be
Kick (dotted quarter note)
Snare (dotted quarter note)
Kick (quarter note)
Snare (quarter note)
so that it gives kind of a lopsided 4/4 kick&snare pattern:
|K--S--K-S-|K--S--K-S-|K--S--K-S-| etc.
What is the best way to set this up in Jamstix so that the other kit pieces get composed with the same type of 3+3+2+2 feel? |

Have you tried setting up the groove weights? I have created a non-standard groove with it before. It seems to do a good job of telling Jamstix where the heavy and syncopated beats are.

There are so many options to play with, that I forgot about groove weights.
I'll give that a try. |

Sorry ... it took me a while to get around to this.
Setting the groove weights did the trick I was looking for.
I also found that the "Classic Jamstix" style would let me set the kick/snare hits where I wanted them. But I think setting the groove weights is a better method.
Thanks for the help! |
