Based on everybody's complain, i think you guys need to come up with a very good video tutorial that will better explain how to really use the program, cause the video demo on your site and youtube is just a captivating demo and not a tutorial . Even though i know you guys are trying your best to answer every question posted. Not everybody has the time to sit on the computer and ask questions all day long.

Jamstix is a very complex plugin that can be used in myriads of ways. What exactly is your workflow and what do you want Jamstix to do for you? That way I can assist you better here and also consider your info for future video tutorials. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

A full front-to-back video would be great rather than the 'snapshot' videos that exist now. The current videos seem to jump in in the middle of the overall process somewhere.
How to begin with/without templates,
setting up for live playing
integrating with hosts (mine is Samplitude Pro V10), as well as integrating with other sample libraries such as dfhSuperior.
Yes, I have the videos and appreciate the ability to view them over and over, but it would still be great to have a series of simpler sequence-of-events/process videos.
I'm also going to re-read the manual.
Greg
p.s. see you guys at NAMM? _________________ Samplitude Pro 11.03 (or latest beta)

All duly noted.
Greg: unfortunately, we won't be at NAMM this year. Hope you have fun! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yeah, missed not seeing you at NAMM. Wanted to shake your hand.
The current videos are more 'marketing heavy', but could use some segmentation into simple 30sec. to 1 minute mini training video tutorials.
Good luck,

Very useful video, even if you don't have Samplitude.
Thanks. |

Super video Kraznet. The worst thing I find with so many teaching videos is the presenters voice. They tend to be monotone so you very quickly drift off in concentration(eg John Major).Your voice was up and down so my level of interest was high.Your video was concise, very informative for anyone using Jamstix 2,as although I use Ableton Live the sequencer interfaces on sonar cubase live samplitude Reaper etc all have the same rudimentary elements. The reggae drums sounded great after only a few minutes.Very inspiring. _________________ EMU 1820M user |

Extremely well done and useful video! As DaveElson pointed out it is very useful even for non-Samplitude users. It's also another proof of the theory that an English accent makes any tutorial sound more professional
My only correction is at the end of the video where JS2 is being switched to drum module mode. The 'Map GM' needs to be UNchecked since the JS2 drum performance is not in GM layout. You can here the difference since the percussion is not correctly reproduced in GM mode. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for that tip Ralph I'll have to review it again and make the neccessary changes when I get time.
I want to do one on Jamstix/DFHS setup in the future as well although I have a few others which are more Samplitude centric I need to get done first .
Many thanks

Obvious topics for tutorial videos inc:
> the commonest user faqs
> interesting features that you notice
> gui explanations
> How to this, how to that (specific useful tasks)
Making these will reduce support, retain active users, and encourage new customers to buy as they won't feel overwhelmed by the complexity of JX2
Keep the videos short so they're not a chore to produce.
1-3 mins covers most subjects. If a subject is longer then break it up to shorter easy-to-make modules.
Camtasia is the best software for making video tutorials
It costs a few hundred bucks, and is fairly easy to use, in that it records every screen action as editable video.
It will also record voice so you need an english speaker when making the videos.
Or record voice in native language and send an mp3 of it to a natural english speaker, who can dub over in english. |

At the cost of sounding like a smart ass, one thing that can be done to learn JS2 is practice practice practice!!! Press buttons, move sliders, click here, click there....it's the best way since there are no decent tutorials at the moment.
Kraznet's JS video tutorial is the exception. I am looking into buying Samplitude Master 10 so i caught all your tutorials Kraznet and find them informative so thank you for that.
Back to JS2, perhaps another good way to get users and potential users to understand JS is have a section in this forum that breaks down each JS feature on it's exclusive thread. This way one can scroll to the topic that interests them.
Have the main forum called "Jamstix tutorials" and every week or so have a new thread topic pertaining to a specific function within JS2.
My 2 cents. |

I just wanted to put my $.02 in on this one. THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what I needed to get a chance to get my head around this program.
I downloaded the zip file of the video and put it on my thumb drive to take home and watch after work. I watched it a couple of times in a row and then got to work. I don't use Samplitude...but it didn't matter at all! I was able to get results that made me feel good about using the program FINALLY! I've still got a lot to learn however! At any rate..thanks once again for putting this EXCELLENT resource together.. I just wish there were more like it! |

Hello,
I'm trying to find good tutorials on how to use jamstix tespecially to create songs from scratch, with hand-editing of new or existing styles).
The tutorial mentioned in this thread (http://www.samplitude.com/eng/seq/tutorial_videos.html ) is not accessible anymore, does someone still have it? Or do you have other good tutorials?
Thanks!
