I bought and D/L's this today but am having problems.. I run the SSD installer and it goes fine.. Per the instructions I run the Kontakt 3 Player but it fails saying something to the effect of "since you already have Kontakt 3 installed (I do) just run the Service Center from Start/Programs..".. So Ok.. Off I go. I run it and it doesn't see the SSD package.. Anyone know what I'm missing? Do I bypass that part since I'll be "hosting" it in JS?
I did a search and do not find a .dll file for the SSD product either, by the way..
Any help is appreciated! Thanks...

Ok.. Got part of the way.. Installed the latest version of the NI Service Center and it's activated...
Now, what steps do I take to make JS see it?? _________________ Main Rig: C5.5(32bit), Win 7 64, i7 970, 12GB, UAD2, FF800, JS3

Naa.. Nevermind guys.. I figure my time is worth $20/hour and I've spent 3 hours on this trying to get it to work at least in Kontakt.. Update service center.. update Kontakt but that one fails because the original K3 install didn't go to it's default location.. Wants me to move it to the default location (doesn't say where) or reinstall K3 from scratch to it's default and I'm not about to go thru that again..LOLOL I figure I've been getting along fine without SSD anyway.. Worth a try at twenty bux though.. _________________ Main Rig: C5.5(32bit), Win 7 64, i7 970, 12GB, UAD2, FF800, JS3

I just bought it too.. and it sounds like you are REALLY close to having it work.... just do this-
Insert Jamstix into your project. Go to the KIT screen and click the LOAD button. When the screen appears, scroll through the list of load options and you should then see Steven Slate with a plus sign next to it. Open that and pick the kit that you want. In my case things started to load and then I got an error message about the VST dll. I then had to browse to the Kontact.dll to let JS know where it was... from then on I've been able to use the kit with no problems.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, I tried that Jeff - but, I don't have JS 2.5.3 loaded.. LOLOL.. So the SSD kits aren't there.. Kontakt can't load the SSD's as it's at v3.0.1 and the SSD were created from a newer version of K3 (v3.5), thus gotta reinstall K3 from scratch to it's default location, then update it to v3.5, then update JS to v2.5.3.. No thanks.. I already spent my $20 worth of time and then some.. At this point, the system is working fine and I'm getting satisfying results for what I use JS for.. JS 3 is right around the corner too and I'm sure that'll be all I need.. Just thought for twenty bux I'd try it.. It was worth the try.. But not worth any more time..
Thanks for chiming in though.. I appreciate it!

Yeah, and I appreciate it Jeff.. I tried that but I didn't install K3 originally in it's default location and the updater doesn't offer any way to browse to the location where K3 actually resides so yeah, it said either I have to move K3 to it's default location or reinstall it to it's default then run the updater..
I'll pass.. If I had paid full price for SSD then I'd follow thru with it.. _________________ Main Rig: C5.5(32bit), Win 7 64, i7 970, 12GB, UAD2, FF800, JS3

Looks like that expansion pack offer is gone/over. Shows up when you search the site for "Steven Slate" but the link is dead - which is a shame - I've got the SSD + JS2 + Reaper combo working pretty well now to the point of having it set up as a default project.
$49 for Pod Farm sounds pretty good, but I have a metric arseload of free VST ampsims and cab impulses already. |
