Hi Everybody!
Another newbie here. I just purchased Jamstix 3 with all the updates.
I have this problem. I have a song in Sonar 7.02 which is using Superior Drummer 2 with Nashville kit. The song is partly finished with all the drum parts done with SD2 (some parts dragged from SD2 MIDI and some parts programmed thru Korg PadKontrol) but I want Jamstix to improve my programmed MIDI drums. How do I go about configuring Jamstix to drive Superior Drummer.
I tried to load Jamstix as a soft synth and modifying the input from SD2 to accept output from Jamstix but it doesn't work. I know there ar steps that i overlooked.
If any of you guys have tried Jamstix with SD2 to work with Jamstix will you please share the steps you did to accomplish that. I just feel so confused on how to do it.
Or maybe this topic has already been discussed here. If it has, could someone give me a link to that discussion?
Thank you very much

Two ways:
1) enable MIDI output on JS3 in Sonar so that you can choose JS as a MIDI input on the S2 track.
2) load 'Superior 2' kit in JS2 kit dialog (DFHS folder) and DO NOT load S2 separately in Sonar. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph,
I'm still on the process of going thru the manual as I'm still quite confused.
By the way, regarding Option 1, what kit should I load in the load kit option so it will be compatible with Superior Drummer 2 with Nashville kit.
I will try Option 2 as well. As I understand, i need to unload SD2 and load Jamstix on the audio track that was previously using SD2?
Please bear with me Ralph as I'm quite a noob...

Load 'Superior 2' from the DFHS folder with MIDI OUT ONLY checked in the mixer (so it doesn't actually load the Superior DLL).

You unload SD2 in the host and then just load 'Superior 2' from the DFHS folder in JS3 (with MIDI OUT ONLY in the mixer NOT checked). This will load the SD DLL into JS3 and set everything up automatically. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Wow! thanks for the quick reply Ralph.
Will try both of these tomorrow as I'm not in my DAW right now. |
