Ralph,
This is probably not a Jamstix issue, but I'm not sure. I'm now running DFHS inside Jamstix inside Cubase. It's amazing! My problem is that in "mappings" I tell Jamstix to open 12 channels for the DFHS outputs. What happens next is that I get 12 stereo channels opening up in Cubase, and the 12 mono DFHS outputs fill the first 6 stereo channels under Jamstix. So then I have the kick drum and snare on the same fader, etc etc..
There is probably a way of telling Cubase that Jamstix meant 12 mono channels, not stereo, but I haven't yet figured out how to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, as always!

Download the latest beta here:
http://rayzoon.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=385
and then add this line:
StereoOutputs=0
somewhere to the [General] section of your jamstix.ini file.
In a later update we will put a proper control in the mappings tab but this will hold you over.
Also, you will only need 6 outputs in Jamstix to get 12 mono channels. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It may be better to just run DKFHS outside of Jamstix, then just track the midi from Jamstix on a midi track (playing back through DKFHS) - Midi track input Jamstix, Midi output DKFHS
Thanks for the info on this, as it may be important at some stage
Cheers

Both ways have adv/disadv. I end up using the DFHS inside of Jamstix mostly because of its quicker setup and mapping. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Okay, Zauni, will do! I'm glad the fix wasn't terribly obvious, or I would have felt dumb(er).
I did consider running DFHS outside of Jamstix, as andrewwright67 noted, but I recalled something in one of the posts about losing some specific "smarts" in the link between Jamstix and DFHS if you do it that way.
Thanks again!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of running these plugins in or outside of Jamstix
I have BFD, DKFHS and DKFHS Custom & Vintage
Any info on the various methods would be cool
Cheers

In earlier versions of Jamstix you'd lose the extra DFHS sounds (LR snare and toms) but in 1.2 and later you can use the 'MIDI Out Only' checkbox in the mapping tab to load a DFHS mapping into Jamstix without actually loading the DFHS DLL so the MIDI output of Jamstix has all the "smarts" and can be routed to DFHS outside of Jamstix. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, it's all the same but loading them into Jamstix has the advantage of being quicker to set up. It's a matter of preference. Some people used to have stability issues with certain VSTi loaded into Jamstix in certain hosts. In those cases external use is indicated. Not sure how much of this applies anymore with the latest beta. It runs 100% stable for me here with BFD, DFHS and C&V internally in various hosts. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks m8
I having loads of fun with Jamstix, so thankyou for such a great product
P.s. I 'd like to request that the ride cymbal have it's own settings like the crash has now - i.e. 8ths, 16ths, and to include a ride bell hit, as BFD I noticed has bell hits for some rides
Is this possible?
Cheers

If you right-click on a cymbal panel box, hold and slide left you can change the sound played, including ride. We will add the ride bell as an option in a future update. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
