ok i am still trying the demo out... how do i create my own beats? i need more specific drum patters for my songs...nad how far into editing of beats/grooves can one go in this program?

We're going to have a video tutorial out for this next week but here is the gist:

- create an empty part in JS3 (style=silent, drummer=silent)
- loop the first bar in the part with the rounded arrow in the bar editor
- while the bar is looping, place events in the bar editor as needed by double-clicking. You can right-click on an event to change it from the default sound. You can use CTRL-drag to copy events and SHIFT-drag to move them. Double-click an event to delete it.

- once the groove is how you like it, click "Turn Groove Into A Style" in the bar editor menu.

Jamstix is now using your programmed groove as a style for the part. Load a drummer to have him apply feel processing, accents and fills.

You can also add more style elements to your groove by using 'Add' or 'Extract' in the brain menu

ok so i have been trying desperately to do this but obviously i am doing something wrong because nothing is coming out right.... i am so in love with the idea of what this software represents so fari am missing how to make it work for me.

i am ery used to creating beats in fruity loops (feels very intuitive to me) can i use my fruity loops 3.4 as a starting point (exporting midi) then importing it into jamstix and let it do its thang?

either way please some one help me find a away for jamstix to work for me

ok i see how to do this, but my songs have very different drum parts for the intros, verses choruses, solo sections etc. what would be the best way to apply what jamstix can do to this? should i create the whole song in fruity, then open up the entire song as 1 groove? or what? or if i want jamstix to handle the hat work should i export it with no hats/rides and only the crashes/toms where they're a must to be a certain way then let jamstix do the rest?

Thanks, it will be very usefull! By the way, I spent some more time reading interesting topics in the forums, and the way to define rythms from scratch is becoming more clear o me.
I'll try my findings tomorrow!
