i just installed JS3 and was disappointed by right-mouse-click behaviour.

maybe i'm missing something, but while in JS2 clicking by the right mouse button allowed to change the velocity and to audition the note at the current velocity, this behaviour seems gone in JS3.
this is very disappointing, since going to the knobs to adjust event velocity is not so straighforward comparing to the past!

i also tried holding shift/control/alt but they seem to do nothing.

am i wrong??

thanks!

Yes, this was removed to allow for the right-click menu. We'll see about adding it back in via CTRL or so.

This would be great Smile ! I really miss this feature as well, especially the ability to quickly adjust velocity by right click on the hit and drag up /dowm.

Cheers

other features are really great, but this one is lacking.
i also tried to figure up how to "midi learn" the four knobs (vel, timing, hat open...) but it didnt work... maybe you can also implement a midi function for those, i think it's not easy but here's a trick, used also in Sonar ACT:

(i hope to remember well...)
some controller have rotary encoders that output the CC midi value
64 +/- 1
the value is 65 and then 64 if the CC is rotate clockwise
the value is 63 and then 64 if the CC is rotate anticlockwise

for each event you can tell how to rotate the virtual knob without considering its actual position. i.e. there is not a 1-1 relation between the virtual knob and the physical knob value. the virtual knob just increment or decrement when you rotate clockwise or anticlockwise

anyway... using ctrl/alt/shift or combination would be great, also...

thanks!

i finally had time to use JS3 in a real song.

i continue to feel that the mouse click behaviour in the arrange window is not optimal... and somewhat shocking if compared to JS2... i really liked the single window with all the sounds and the possibilty to audition them!

according to me, if no sound is selected and you just press the right mouse button onan event, the corresponding event should be chosen on the fly.

now, if you right click on the event and this one is not selected, the "note choice" menu is not available, until you select an event. initially, i didnt understood why i could not modify my snare with another sound!

so, you have to left click + right click... which is time consuming and irritating if you have to modify several events...

I was about to post something like that, I really miss these from JS2, adjusting velocity and quick selection of kit piece with mouse over or right click. There could be an option to select JS2 behavior for those who like the new approach. But I find it too much time consuming.
