I had a quick glance through the draft manual today. I wondered if it would be possible to have different settings across all the parameters for repetition and transition fills within the same part?
At the moment I think it looks like only the "character" components can vary across repetition and transition fills. It would be really great if the other components, particularly the "simple" component could be varied e.g. so that repetition fills can be set to relatively simple (e.g. because they occur in gaps between the vocals) and transition fills are more complex e.g. because they build up to a chorus.
I don't know how to get that in Jamstix 2 and it looks from the manual description that it can't be done in version 3, but in both instances I may be wrong.
Another example would be having only toms 2,3, and 4 used in repetition fills but those plus 5 and the snare in transition fills.
Just a thought and apologies if this can be done but I don't know how to do it.
Keep up the great work! |

We are and have been looking at this but do not have a solution for the JS2/3 engine that we like as of now. However, Jamstix 3 defaults repetition fill mode to 'Groove', which is generally a fill that follows the underlying groove and is less 'abrupt' than a free from fill so this may help you a bit with this area.
Groove fills in JS3 are very different from JS2. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
