a) Jamstix 2 creates the folder C:\Documents and Settings\DarkStar\My Documents\Jamstix2, with a js.ini file (and a log file) in it.
-- can I move this .ini file to somehwere more sensible and then delete that folder?
- e.g. move it to the same folder as the VSTi, or the data?

No, this is for Vista compatibility.

Quote:

b) I have two different AudioM8.dll files.
-- one from the Jamstix install and one from the JS2 install
-- can someone let me know the date created/modified and size of the correct Audiom8 file?

I assume one is in the JS1 folder and the other in the JS2 folder. Keep both. They are quite small.

Quote:

c) when installing JS2 I did not bother installing the 3 XL Pak files.
-- I believe that their content is the same as the 5 JS1 paks (Drum #1, Drum #2, Brush, Snare and e)
-- the XL Pak files are smaller as a different compression algorithm is used.
-- Is that correct?

Yes, all correct.

Quote:

-- I did see this "The XL Pak combines all expansion Paks available for the original Jamstix 1 into a single product and adds new Jamstix 2 kit mappings", so would like to check that I do have those additional mappings
-- what should I be looking for?

Those are the kits with (XL) in the name and you already have them since they are also installed by the Jamstix installer.

Quote:

d) After installing all the kits, can I delete the rxp and .rxp2 files? (as long as I have backed them up Smile)

Yes, you can.

No problem, thank you for the answers.

Vista ... bah!

I have a single Jamstix folder with both JS1 and JS2 dlls in it. So I would only have one AudioM8 - but which one? Smile

Understood; but it would be great to be able to choose the folder during the Installation (or as an Option), both for us lowly XP-luddites and the Vista users. Smile
