When using JS in "Jam with Audio" mode, JS seems to work ok but the drum levels are extremely low. To even hear them I have to go into the mixer, add compression, and slide the slider all the way up till she goes into the red.

The M8 meters only deflect up to to about 1/2 of the green portion of the scale maximum during playback.

The "Power" knob in the JS interface jiggles around the 8:00 position during playback.

Is there a way I can get these drum levels up?

Thanks for your help!

Brian

Use the input trim slider next to the jam mode selector to raise the sensitivity. The song power knob should be around 100% during the normal volume parts of your song.

Well, I processed my audio clip and increased it by 3 db, and now the "Play Power" knob hovers around 100%, but still the drums sound very weak in volume.

I have to turn up the volume slider both in the Jamstix Mixer interface and in the Sonar Jamstix Track almost all the way. This makes the drums audible but I think they're clipping as my audio meter is peaking in the red and it sounds distorted.

I think something is not right here and for the life of me I can't figure out why the drum volume sounds so low.

Anybody have any ideas? I'm beginning to see the power and usefulness of Jamstix and it would be a shame to not be able to use it due to some weird problem with getting volume.

Windows XP Home
3 GB RAM
Sonar 8 Studio Edition
Audigy 2 ZS sound card (exhibits absolutely no problems, midi drums are fine in other songs)

Thanks!

Could you send me a brief MP3 of the situation?
